1. What is your opinion of Amir now? Be specific.
2. Explain the significance of Amir running the kite for Sohrab at the end of the novel.
3. Would Baba be proud of Amir now? Explain.
4. What is your opinion of the novel? Explain your likes, dislikes, connections, etc. be specific.
1) Amir did what he had to do. He knew that he betrayed Hassan in his childhood and this was the only way he could ever forgive himself. I think that Amir is a better person for what he did.
ReplyDelete2) The significance is that it takes him full circle back to his childhood. All of the great memories he had with Hassan he may now be able to have with his son, Shorab. It is the beginning of what could be a great relationship.
3) I think Baba would be extremely proud of Amir. He was always treated as a "ghost,'' and looked down upon as a child. He grew up and became the man that his father always would have wanted.
4) My opinion of the novel is that is was a good book with an ever better storyline. I liked all the connections with friends and family. I loved the foreshadowing. My only complaint is that of the ending. It was too mainstream. I was hoping to learn more about Sohrab's relationship with Soraya and Amir.
I believe that Amir is an honorable man after his actions with Sohrab. He saved Sohrab from the Taliban and puts his life on the line for a person who did no harm for others. Amir is pretty cool now.
ReplyDeleteThe significance of Amir running the kite in the end is how it draws parallels to Hassan and Amir as children. Amir remembers the good times him and Hassan had kite flying and the kite flying competition was the last time he remembers the good days of Afghanistan.
Baba would definitely be proud of Amir. The beating Amir took for Sohrab was completely selfless and for a good cause. All Baba did during Amir's life was stick up for the smaller man and try as hard as he could to prevent horrible things from happening. Amir's actions are on par with the righteous views of Baba.
My opinion of the novel is that it is pretty good. It kinda drags at points but as someone who appreciates history, it is interesting seeing the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and the rise of the Taliban from the eyes of a character in those situations. It was better than The Crucible and Gatsby I'll tell ya that.
My opinion about Amir had really changed. He proved that he is not a coward. You can tell that his guilt has really kicked in because he felt guilty about the past with Hassan, and wasn't going to let that happen again with Hassan. He almost took his life trying to save Hassan from the orphanage. And he tries everything that he can to adopt Sorhab and bring him back to America. The significance of Amir running the kite for Sohrab at the end of the novel is Amir showing Sohrab how His father use to fly kites and his trick that he pulled to succeed. Hasson use to run the kite for Amir. I think Baba would be proud of Amir now, because at the beginning of the book Baba thought Amir never stuck up for himself, and wouldn't fight back. When Amir fought for Sohrab in the orphanage and was by his side in the hospital and taught his how to fly a kite proved him self that Amir has changed from when he was little until he is a grown man. I really liked this novel. At first I didn't think I would like it and it would be confusing but it turned out to be really good and not confusing. A lot of times I read ahead of the class because I thought it was really good and couldn't put it down. The only part I didn't like about the book was the chapter sometimes tended to get lengthy. I was really surprised that Assef was ahead of the Taliban, but after I knew that it didn't really surprise me anymore.
ReplyDeleteFrom the beginning of the book my opinion of Amir has changed. It has gone from respecting Amir and Hassan's friendship to not liking Amir because of his betrayal on Hassan. In the last few chapter I have learned to respect Amir once more. I have now gained more respect because he went back to Afghanistan to save Hassan's son Sohrab. He had to travel through many different cities to first find the orphanage. Then from there he had to conquer many more road blocks to get Sohrab back to America with him to a better life. In the end chasing a kite for Sohrab to end the novel.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the novel Amir runs the kite that he cutes for Sohrab. At this point in the novel Sohrab has not talked since they returned back to America which has almost been a full year. After Amir cuts the kite he looks to Sohrab and asks if he would like him to run the kite for him. Sohrab give a little smile a nods. That was all Amir needed. It was significant because that is what Hassan used to do for Amir. Now Amir was doing it for his son.
Yes I think Baba would be proud of Amir. Amir has made a name for himself and is not respected for what he has done. He has saved Hassan's son from life in Afghanistan.
I liked to novel. It was easy to read and I enjoyed reading it. It showed me into the world of what really has happen over in Afghanistan.
1.) In my opinion I think that Amir has changed. He use to be a coward and not stand up for others. He watched Hassan get raped and did not tell anyone. He tried to frame Hassan. I think he is a better person now, because he tries everything in his power to get Sohrab and bring him back to America.
ReplyDelete2.) The significance of Amir running the kite for Sohrab at the end is that when he asks Sohrab if he wants him to run the kite, Sohrab says yes, and Amir says For you a thousand times over, like Hassan said right before he ran the kite for Amir.
3.) I think that Baba would be proud of Amir because even though he had troubles with being a coward in the past. He got over that fear and saved Hassan's son not only for Hassan, but for his guilt that he has been carrying around. Baba would be finally be proud that he stuck up for someone and himself finally.
4.) I liked the book, because it was based on a true story. I also enjoyed how easy it was to read. I liked how it took you back to Amir's childhood and lead you to the phone call. It showed me the differences between America and Afghanistan. I did not like how lengthy the chapters were at times, but I got through it.
1.) I think Amir has finally achieved inner peace with himself. Because of what happened in his childhood, he had to live a life full of regret and a guilty conscience. I think he saved Sohrab simply for the reason that he had to, because it was the only thing he COULD do to pay his respects to Hassan. Finding out that Hassan was really his brother and that meant Sohrab was his nephew probably made him want to go through with it also. I believe that Amir is a good person, and that he was just troubled by his past all this time. But after saving Sohrab, he can finally be the person he always wanted to be, a respectful man.
ReplyDelete2.) Amir running the kite for Sohrab at the end of the book is significant because the last time he had ever flown one, he did it with Hassan. It's also important because flying kites will always keep Hassan in his heart and will make him remember him for the good times they shared together in their childhood. At this point in the book, Sohrab was mute and did not talk unless he ultimately had to. Amir thought flying a kite with Sohrab would make everything better, the way it did with Hassan. When Amir got an answer out of Sohrab on whether he wanted to fly the kite or not, that meant everything.
3.) I think Baba would be very proud of Amir now. He would be proud of him for putting his life on the line to save his nephew, and bringing home to take care of him for as long as he could. Baba always said that Pashtuns were very honorable men, and he would probably consider Amir honorable now.
4.) When first starting the book, I thought it was a little dry and boring. As we got farther and farther into it, it started to become really interesting to me. I liked the overall plot, and how it made me want to keep reading. I liked the way the story had its' ups and downs, but still kept a steady meaning along the way. This book is probably one of the better books I've read throughout high school and I did enjoy it a lot.
1.) Amir has grown substantially since his childhood. He is no longer that cowardly man that runs from conflicts. He has gotten Sohrab out of Afghanistan, and has proved he is honorable.
ReplyDelete2.) The significance of Amir running the kite for Sohrab is the whole novel has taken a full circle, and now Amir will run a kite for Hassan's son like Hassan did for Amir when they were children. It also could be a symbol of Sohrab and Amir becoming close.
3.) Baba would be very proud of Amir now, because Amir went over to Afghanistan and got Sohrab out from the Taliban's grasp. Amir has atoned for both of their sins, and proven himself to be an honorable man.
4.) I loved the novel, but the beginning when it was explaining everything and setting the scene, it was very boring and hard to keep reading it. Once it started to pick up though, that is when it got very interesting indeed. I liked how the book foreshadowed bad things that was about to happen. I enjoyed seeing Amir change from a small, cowardly boy to someone who is honorable, and not afraid to do what is right even if it is difficult. I did not like the ending though, because it was very predictable.
1.) I think that Amir has changed a lot and came around and changed his life for the better. he let out everything that he was holding in and let people know how he actually felt and what was digging at him all those years and made him feel less guilty. I think that what he did for his half brother changes a lot of perspectives or views on him.
ReplyDelete2.)The significance of Amir running the kite for Sohrab brings the story almost back to the beginning. Amir and Hassan both enjoyed running kites and so does Sohrab. Its also significant because Hassan ran the blue kite for him and went through a lot just to get it and running this new kite for Sohrab is making him happy and kind of thanking Amir.
3.) I think that Baba would be very happy of Amir because he did something that Baba himself could never do which is lessen the guilt in his life and do the right thing.
4.) Overall I would say the book was pretty good. It had a lot of things that kept you interested and it had a lot of emotion and meaning behind it all. I think my favorite part was when Sohrab got back at Assef by shooting him in the eye because that was like pay back for what he did to him and his father. One thing I didn't like is the ending, the author should of continued on and been more descriptive about he was happy and if they got the kite or not.
1. By saving Sohrab, Amir was able to forgive himself for what he did in the past making himself a better man in the process.
ReplyDelete2. The significance of Amir running the kite is that it brings him full circle. The memories Hassan gave Amir may now come from Sohrab.
3. I believe Baba would be proud of Amir now because Amir showed bravery when he saved Sohrab from Afghanistan.
4. In my opinion the novel was a good book. It took a while in the beginning to get into the book but at the end it was hard to put down. For all that had happened to Sohrab I was hopping for a happier ending.
1. My personal opinion of Amir is that he is still bettering himself and trying to be a better man. I think he has redeemed himself a lot but not all the way. This is one thing that Amir manned up and did. I would like to see if Amir continues to better himself and takes care of Sohrab.
ReplyDelete2. The significance of Amir running the kite with Sohrab is that what comes around goes around. It also takes Amir back to running the kites with Hassan.
3. I feel as though Baba would be very proud of Amir. Baba never had the guts to tell everyone the truth about him and his past. While Amir has come clean about his past and is working on bettering his situation. Amir also showed courage when he needed to most.
4. The book was a decent book. It had a great plot and was easy to read. The ending was a little boring but the rest of the book made up for that.
1.) I think Amir achieved inner peace with himself. Because of what happened in his childhood, he had to live a life full of regret with a guilty conscience. I think he decide to find Sohrab simply because it was the only thing he could do to pay his respects to Hassan. Finding out Hassan was his brother meant Sohrab was his nephew. I believe that Amir is a good person, and that he was just troubled by his past. After saving Sohrab, he finally is the person he always wanted to be, a respected man.
ReplyDelete2.) Amir running the kite for Sohrab at the end of the book is significant because the last time he had ever flown one was when Hassan was raped after not giving up the kite.
1. I now believe that Amir is a respectable man now after he saved Sohrab. I think he made up for all the bad things that he did in his childhood, and he can now live without feeling guilt.
ReplyDelete2. Him running the kite for Sohrab brings him back to his childhood, when him and Hassan used to go out and run kites. It brought back a lot of good memories for Amir. It also brings back the days of the old Afghanistan.
3. Yes, Baba would be very proud of Amir now because of his bravery in Afghanistan when he saved Sohrab. He would be very proud that he saved someone who meant a lot to him too.
4. The book was really good I thought. It was a little slow at the beginning, but at the end I couldn't stop reading it. I thought the ending could have been different but I understand a realistic ending.
1. My new opinion of Amir is very much so improved. He made himself good again by rescuing Sohrab. He also got what he deserved when Assef beat the crap out of him because he didn't help Hassan in the alley all those years ago.
ReplyDelete2. In the beginning of the book Amir is watching Hassan chase his kite. At the end of the book Sohrab, Hassan's son, is watching Amir chase his kite.
3. I think that Baba would be very proud of Amir. Baba really love Hassan and I think that if Baba knew what Amir did for Hassan he would be very proud.
4. My opinion of the novel is also much more improved than what it was in the beginning. The novel starts out very boring. Although there is a lot of detail provided there just is not much drama or excitement in the beginning. Then things start happening and falling into place. There is suddenly much more happening and this keeps the reader glued to the book until the end. I do not, however, like how the book ends. It sort of left me hanging and I didn't much appreciate that. the end :D
1. I think Amir has finally redeemed himself mostly, but not wholly. He did save Hassan's son, Sohrab, but he got rid of Hassan in the first place, was a wuss all the time, went to America, and didn't WANT to take Sohrab in the first place. He was mean and unthoughtful towards anything having to do with Hassan for about 25 years. I don't think he redeemed himself fully.
ReplyDelete2. Amir asking permission to run the kite for Sohrab was neat because it showed that Sohrab would later feel at home in America with Amir and fly kites like Hassan and Amir used to back in Afghanistan.
3. Baba would be proud of Amir for taking initiative and getting done what needed to be done. Amir became a man and took Sohrab into his custody, avenging his past mistakes.
4. I started enjoying the book as soon as Amir became older because things started changing quickly. Baba dies, Rahim Khan needs Amir to save Sohrab, Amir learns that Hassan, his BROTHER, is dead along with his wife, and Afghanistan is taken over by the Taliban. There was a lot of suspense there, and I loved it.
1.) I believe that Amir has changed tremendously throughout the book from being child and being scared. To a grown man that had to face his fears and grow up to accept his past. I also think that him going back to his home town made him face the past and finally accept it.
ReplyDelete2.) I think that him flying the kite at the end of the book was Amir showing Sohrab the bond that his father and Amir had. Also when Amir said "for you a thousand times over" It is something very important to Amir because Hassan use to say this to him.
3.) Baba would be very proud of his son Amir for adopting and going all the way back to his Kabul to face his past. He always thought of his son as weak, but once they moved there relationship was better. Baba would have been very proud of his son from going back and saving Sohrab from Assef.
4.) I liked the book, but it started off very slow and was hard to keep interest in the book. but the book was more interesting at the end when you found everything out and having Amir finally face his past.
1) I think by adopting Sohrab, he kinda forgave himself a little for what happened in the past.
ReplyDelete2) The significance of Amir running the kite for Sohrab is that he used to run the kite for Hassan when they were young
3)I believe that Baba would be proud of Amir for doing the right thing and saving Sohrab from Afghanistan and from the Taliban
4) In my opinion it was an okay book, it was kinda hard to get into and also some of the names were confusing. Towards the middle it got good and the end was extremely good!
1) My opinion on Amir has changed along with his character. I think that he is actually a man now, he has gone back and tried to gain forgiveness and I believe that he has accomplished that by trying to do right. He has grown up and realized his mistakes and went back to his home country to try and do what he believed was the right thing to do.
ReplyDelete2) At the end of the novel when Amir ran after the kite was significant because he ran kites throughout his childhood with Hassan and now he is running kites with his son.
3) I believe that Baba would be proud because he did what he could to help and provide for one of his own. Baba really cared for Hassan and if he could see that Amir cared for him now he would be extremely proud and happy for the both of them.
4) The novel was actually really good I thought, I really enjoyed reading it. it was an interesting book because there was a lot going on at different parts of the story and I believe that the ending was a perfect ending for that book.
1.) My opinion of Amir has changed starting from the beginning of the book. Throughout his childhood he and Hassan were very close to each other. They did everything together and they treated each other like brothers. Hassan was always there for Amir and always stood up for him. My opinion of Amir in the beginning of the book changed when he betrayed Hassan. He didn't stand up for him even though Hassan would. Towards the end of the book, I learned that Hassan had changed. After finding out that Hassan was his half brother, and Sohrab was his nephew, he knew that he had to save Sohrab because he owes Hassan for betraying him. Amir had become a good man and he had also become a stronger person. After saving Sohrab, and putting his life on the line for him, he can finally let go of the past that has been troubling him all his life.
ReplyDelete2.) Running the kite for Sohrab is significant because it brings back the full circle to when he used to fly kites with Hassan. All those great moments he spent flying kites with Hassan, he now may be able to have great memories with Sohrab.
3.) Baba would be very proud of Amir because he had grown up to be a good man. He showed bravery when he put hid life on the line just to save Sohrab.
4.) My opinion of this book is that it was very good. In the beginning I thought it was boring and I thought I wouldn't like it, but as I read further into the book, I started to like that it made me want to keep reading it. What I liked most about this book was the theme. Friendship, Guilt and Redemption. This is a great novel that explains those three themes.
My opinion of Amir at this point changed tremendously throughout the book. In the beginning Amir and Hassan were like brothers, they did everything together until Amir betrayed Hassan when he got raped, and he didn't do anything to try to stop it. In the middle of story Amir felt guilty for himself for what he put Hassan through. I think Amir feels better about himself after he saved Sohrab because he knows Hassan would appreciate what Amir went through to get him.
ReplyDeleteI think Amir running the kite for Sohrab is significant because Amir and Hassan used to run kites together and Amir is passing it on to Hassan's son. Hassan would be proud because Sohrab is doing what his father did during his childhood.
Baba would be proud of Amir because Amir wasn't as strong when he was younger. Amir grew up and did what he thought was best and that was going back and saving his half nephew. Amir is now the man that Baba always wanted him to be.
The book was alright but it was a little tough to understand at times with all the different names and plot twist. It's a good book for what we read it for and had good suspense.
1. My opinion of Amir has changed as the book has gone by, when he was a child he was scared and now that he is grown up he is starting to face his fears now. He is now accepting the past and realizing after he went back home that he has always been a guest in Afgan because of his families wealth.
ReplyDelete2. The significance of Amir running the kite for Sohrab is that he used to run the kite for Hassan when they were younger. Amir was showing how close he was with his Father.
3. Baba would and should be very proud of Amir because he adopted Sohrab, and for going back home to face his past and stand up for himself just like Baba tried to teach him.
4. I really enjoyed the book, I like books that drop hints to things that are going to happen later in the book. The book was full of surprises and I enjoyed them very much. It was a little slow and hard to follow at the start but really it really came around as the book went on and had a great ending.
1. My opinion on Amir has changed. In the beginning of the book he did want to help hassan when he was getting raped. Hassan and Amir where like brothers. They were always together. After hassan got raped amir felt bad because he did not step up and help out his friend. In the middle of the book he realized that he should step in and do something. Hassan would be greatly appreciated if amir would have helped him out when he was in trouble. Amir can know look back and see what he should have done to help out his peers.
ReplyDelete2. I think that amir running the kite for Sohrab was very caring. I think that Sohrab appreciates it. In amir and hassans younger years they ran kites. Amir turned out to be very good in his kite running. In the book when he flies the kite for sohrab it brings back memories of him flying kites with hassan when they were younger.
3. I think that baba would be very proud and happy for amir and what he did. Amir was not a very good person for helping out his friends in the beginning of the book. He has now grown a lot stronger. I think that baba would be very proud of him for adopting sohrab. I think that he would be also proud of him because he went back home and realized that he needed to open up and do what is best for himself.
4. In my opinion I thought that the book was okay. I thought that it was kinda of hard and confusing to read. It was hard to follow along with the main points of the book. After reading the first couple chapters in the book it was starting to all come together and make sense. It is a good book if you like to read about close friendships, guilt, and redemption.
1. I like Amir now because he went and did what he had to do by saving Hassans son. In the beginning I didn't like him because he just stood by and watched him get raped.
ReplyDelete2. The significance of it is that Amir used to fly the kite with Hassan and now he is teaching Sohrab how to fly a kite. It also brought back good memories of them two flying a kite long ago.
3. I think that Baba would be proud of him because he did what he had to do and Amir finally fought for himself for once.
4. I thought the book was good and it had a good storyline and it was pretty easy for me to follow. The only thing that I didn't like was the ending I was hoping to see Sohrab how he liked America.
1. My opinion on Amir has changed since the first events in the book. At the start of the book Amir was selfish. Now that he has grown up he is thinking more of others instead of himself and trying to make up for his selfish ways. When he was young he did not realize how good of a life he had, now that he is older he can see that he had it easier than Hassan and many other people in his country.
ReplyDelete2. I think Amir running the kite for Sohrab is significant because Amir is now the one being loyal and doing anything for someone just like how Hassan was to him.
3. I believe Baba would be very proud of Amir because Amir is now the person that Baba always wanted him to be. Amir is now brave and is helping others by doing the right thing.
4. My opinion on the book was that it good. It can be confusing, but it is good at explaining everything that is going on. The book shows that if something happens, there can be ways to make things better again through friendship.
1. I feel that Amir is a more mature person towards the end of the book. He is making better decisions and is finally doing what is right. He knew that he needed to rescue Sohrab to make up for his poor friendship to Hassan as a child. Doing this should make the past decisions that have haunted him go away.
ReplyDelete2. Amir running the kite for Sohrab is highly significant because as a child Hassan flew the kite and one the race for him. Hassan would be happy to know that Amir did that for Sohrab.
3. I feel that Baba would be proud of Amirs actions in the present because Amir is finally doing things that justify that he is a good person. Baba should be proud and get over the past. After all, Baba was not a perfect person himself. He has a very shady past as well. Amir has done things to prove he is good again.
4. Overall it was a well written book that was fairly easy to read. The book did a nice job of foreshadowing the future events. However, some parts of the book were confusing to read because of the different time periods portrayed throughout.
1.After adopting Sohrab he started to forgive himself and try to forget his past. When Amir was a child he was freighted from everything and couldn't face his fears after he has grown up he started seeing past his fears and moving on with his life.
ReplyDelete2. It has significance because seeing how happy Sohrab brings him back to his child hood memories and reminds him of Hassan and all the fun they had together and might be a good start of a father and son relationship.
3. Baba would be really proud because Amir has matured and grown up to be a good father. No one really gave good attention to Amir when he was a child and to see him improve and grow as a father would make Baba happy and Amir himself happy.
4. My opinion of the book is that it is a good book because it shows all the hardship and the struggling of the afghans and shows that no matter what pushes you down you should keep moving on and never quit.
1. My opinion of Amir has changed dramatically. Amir is now a down to earth guy that is looking out for the people in his life. The beginning of the book Amir was jealous and did not want to help Hassan by any means. Now he is looking after Hassan's son and would do anything for him. I think Amir changed his life around.
ReplyDelete2. The significance of this takes it back to the beginning of the novel when Amir and Hassan ran kites. Sohrab is taking the place of Hassan and he happens to say the same thing to Amir as Hassan did.
3. Yes, Baba would be so proud of Amir. Amir isn't a jealous child any longer and he figured out that his life was almost a lie and if Baba were there too see him fix his life he would be very happy.
4. This novel turned out to be a very good one. I actually really liked it and I went into reading this thinking it wouldn't be good. Parts were confusing but talking about them in small groups and as a class helped me understand it better.
4.
1.My opinion on Amir is that he has changed. I think that Amir has grown up and realizes how badly he treated Hassan. I think that he takes reasonability for his actions by saving Hassan son. In the start of the book Amir was struggling with right and wrong and by the end of the book he knew the difference between the two.
ReplyDelete2.When Amir ran the kite for Sohrab it shows his love for Hassan because Hassan use to run the kites for him. It shows that he will do everything in his power to make it up to Hassan by taking care of Sohrab. It also brings the memories Amir and Hassan had when they were younger.
3.Baba would be proud of him for stepping up and taking care of Hassan's son. I think he would be happy for Amir, because he finally stood up for someone else other than himself. Baba would have been proud to see Amir taking care of Sohrab.
4.The book was a good book. It was kind of a hard book to get into but once you started to it was good. Some parts I didn't like reading because they made me mad. Overall though I enjoy The Kite Runner.
1. Amir is now a better person. He didn't help Hassan when he was getting raped, but he did help Hassan by getting his son. He felt bad for not doing anything while he was getting beaten and raped so he said he had to do this.
ReplyDelete2. It reminded him of all the great memories him and Hassan had when they were kids, and now Sohrab can share the same memories with Hassan.
3. I think Baba would be very happy with Amir. Amir, at the beginning of the story wasn't the kind of person to help anyone out. But he proved us wrong by helping Sohrab get out of Afghanistan.
4. While reading this book I started to hate it more and more. But once I realized how meaningful It was I started to like it. I like how Amir helped Hassan out with finding his son. Even tho he didn't help when he was getting beaten and raped, he knew it was a stupid thing to do, so he wanted to help him.
1- Amir has changed a lot from the beginning of the book to the end. Amir is very irresponsible at the beginning of the book. He only cared about himself and wanted what was best for him. When he saw Hassan getting raped he never stopped him and it said a lot about who he really was. At the end of the book he finds out Hassan is his brother and when he dies he takes in Sohrab, Hassan's son.
ReplyDelete2- Flying a kite with Sohrab was significant because the last time Amir had ever flown one it was with Hassan. He asked Sohrab because he knew it would mean something to him and I was a way to still connect to Hassan.
3- In my opinion, I think that Baba would be more than proud of Amir. He has come so far from who he used to be as a child and Baba would appreciate how he treats Hassan's son, Sohrab.
4- If I were to rate the book, I would give it a 8, 10 being the best. I loved the plot twist with finding out Hassan is Baba's son, but I didn't like that it skipped a few years. I loved the suspense and never knowing what was going to come next. It was good and I would recommend it.
1.My opinion of Amir now is that he is a good person for going and getting Sohrab from the orphanage. He finally stands up for someone else which benefited him because he saved Sohrab from the Taliban and the violence in Afghanistan. When Amir took the beating from Assef, this shows that he is not afraid of him anymore and is willing to get beat up to rescue Sohrab. Amir did the right thing by taking Sohrab to America and getting him away from Afghanistan.
ReplyDelete2. When Amir ran the kite for Sohrab at the end showed that Amir would do anything for him and wants to show him respect. This also showed that Hassan used to run the kite for Amir and now Amir is running the kite for Hassan's son which is great.
3. Yes Baba would be proud of Amir now because Amir chose to do the right thing in rescuing Sohrab. Baba loved Hassan so it's great that Amir brought back Hassan's son and will raise him well.
4. I thought the novel was great. I liked how it went through Amir's ups and downs throughout the novel. It's great to see that it had a good ending to it. The novel had a lot of exciting points to it and had great details. It always kept you interested and want to keep reading Overall this was a great book.
1) I think that Amir has change into a better person by saving Sohrab, he did it for Hassan to make up for what he did. He took Sohrab and took care of him didn't send he back to an orphanage.
ReplyDelete2) Amir running the kite for Sohrab is significance because it showed who Amir has changed and how much Amir cares for Sohrab now. It make the novel almost repeat but different, Amir cares for Sohrab like Hassan used to care for Amir.
3) I think that Baba would be proud of Amir now, for fixing the wrong that he did. He would be proud that he realize that he did wrong and had to fix it.
4) In my opinion I didn't like the novel, didn't keep my interest
1. My opinion of Amir has changed since the beginning of the book. Amir has Changed thorough the chapters and has made him self a better person as time went on. He did things to forgive himself of what he did to Hassan.
ReplyDelete2.Amir flying the kite for Sohrab reminds him of his childhood which brings him a full circle.
3. I believe baba would be very proud of Amir because of what he has done and the ways he has changed.
4.In my opinion I did not really like the book. The book is hard to fallow and confusing to read along with some of the words they use.
1) Amir knows how he had betrayed Hassan when he was a child, and now this is the only way to make up for that. By doing this it is going to help him forgive himself and take off so much guilt he has been carrying around with him. By doing this it is going to help him become a better person in the long run.
ReplyDelete2) The significance of it is that it shows how Hassan and Amir as children respected each other a lot and still do today.
3) Yes I think Baba would be very proud of him because Amir did the right thing this time and did what he needed to do.
4) My opinion on the novel is that it was really good and accurate of what really happened back then. It was a exciting book and always kept my attention.
1. My opinion of Amir now is that he has learned from his mistakes and is making up for the past wrongs that he has done. Being that he has betrayed Hassan he is getting rid of his guilt by taking in Sohrab, Hassan's son. Amir is a better man now because of this.
ReplyDelete2. The significance of this is that Hassan used to run kites for Amir, but now Amir is running them for Sohrab.
3. I think Baba would be proud because he has now grown up and taking responsibility for his mistakes and correcting them.
4. my opinion on the novel was that is was sometimes hard to follow but had a good plot.
1. At the beginning of the book Amir is selfish and a jerk. He resembles his father a lot, however towards the end of the book Amir changes he begins to care and do "the right thing" Amir wants to make up for his mistakes and is becoming a better a person towards the end of the book.
ReplyDelete2. In the beginning of the book Hassan and Amir flew kites together and now Amir is passing this on to Hassan's son Sohrab. Hassan would be proud to see Amir sharing this passion that Hassan and him both had with Hassan's son Sohrab.
3. Baba would be proud of Amir because he finally is becoming the person his father wanted him to be. He is taking responsibility for his mistakes and doing what he can to help and move on with his life. Baba would be proud of Amir taking Sohrab in when he had no one left.
4. The novel was a good book and made me want to keep reading, at the beginning of the books there were certain parts where I didn't want to keep reading, however towards the end it became more exciting and always kept the reader wondering. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good emotional read.
1) I think Amir is ok it takes a lot to adopt a kid especially one that's been through what Sohrab has been through, but I still do not think it makes up for his actions.
ReplyDelete2)This is Amir's way of repaying Hassan for everything he did.
3) I think Baba would be proud, Amir finally stood up for himself and that's what Baba always wanted.
4) I liked the book, it had some slow parts but it also had some scenes where I could not put the book down.
My opinion of Amir has really changed. Amir had that guilt and he couldn't go away from it
ReplyDelete2.Amir is flying the kite with Sohrab he reminds his childhood with Hassan and the great times he had.
3. I really believe baba would be very proud of Amir because he finally stood up for what was right.
4.In my opinion the novel was a good book. It's actually a really good book, I thought, it was very interesting how it all came together at the end.
Amir in my opinion has become a man that many thought he would never become. This is because of his shy nature, love of books, and his cowardice in the face of a critical situation made him unlikable and wimpy sounding. Now with correcting his mistakes, becoming semi-successful, and standing up for himself and the things he cares about he has made a complete change for the better.
ReplyDelete2. It takes Amir back and makes himself feel like he has something to actually do with his life since his guilt is gone.
3. Baba would be extremely proud of Amir, he became a man that Baba was wishing he would become.
4. Well its a pretty good book with an engaging story, its nothing I would choose to read on my own but I'm glad to have read it.
My opinion of Amir is that he has finally become a man and has taken reasonability and controls his own life. Amir running the kite is showing that he doesn't always have to do everything that other people can have pride instead of him. Yes I think Baba would be very prod of Amir because he has risked his life that other men would not have to help others. At first I didn't really like the book because of Amir and his attitude toward life, but through out the book showing how Amir has matured and has become more reasonable it made for a very good ending.
ReplyDeleteAmir finally became a man and matured to take responsibility. Baba would be very pround because Amir is doing What he should he is taking care of his nephew. I liked how they showed Amir maturing through out the novel I thought by him taking sohrab in that was a very good thing he did I thought the ending was great just because he did the right thing and didn't run away
